Privacy in Snoez.

Snoez is an app by Niels Heisterkamp Software Development B.V. (NHSD). You can listen without an account or internet connection. Questions: support@nhsd.nl.

Listening on your device

All sounds are created locally. Your mix, volume and saved mix stay on your device. We do not receive audio recordings, listening history or usage statistics. Snoez does not request microphone access or record audio.

Optional remote control

When you use remote control, Snoez registers a random device identifier and device name with our server. The server stores that identifier, a secure hash of the authentication token, the registration time, the receiving setting and your approved pairings. This information is needed to restrict access to paired devices. The secret token stays in secure storage on your device.

Pairing codes and requests are temporary and expire automatically. A visible, valid pairing code grants permission for automatic pairing. Closing the code, letting it expire or leaving the app ends this permission. You can turn off receiving access and revoke pairings in the app.

The server relays control commands and the current playback state. This information is only processed temporarily in memory; no listening history is stored. Audio is never transmitted. Your IP address is used during connections for network traffic and abuse prevention. The Snoez web server does not keep an access log.

Retention and deletion

Device registrations are retained to recognise previously paired devices. A revoked pairing is removed from the active database. Expired temporary codes and requests are removed during server cleanup. To also delete your device registration, email support@nhsd.nl. We will help you identify your device safely without asking you to share its secret token.

Requesting a review

Snoez keeps a local count of listening time, up to three listening days and when a review was requested. This lets us ask only after several listening sessions and avoid asking too often. These counts are not sent to us. Apple or Google provides the review window; their privacy terms apply to any review you submit there.

Camera

Snoez only requests camera access if you choose to scan a QR code. Camera images are not stored or sent to our server. You can also enter the pairing code manually.

Keekaboo and external links

A permanent card introduces Keekaboo, another app by NHSD. Its image is bundled with Snoez. We do not track whether you see the card or automatically send information to Keekaboo. Only tapping the card opens keekaboo.app in your browser. The link includes the campaign name Snoez, without a device identifier or personal information. Keekaboo counts visits by campaign and day, not by person. That website's privacy policy applies there.

No tracking or sale of data

Snoez has no analytics or advertising tracking SDK, purchases or advertising identifier. We do not sell your data. A hosting provider operates the hosting infrastructure and processes technical information only to deliver and secure the service.

Contact and your rights

Necessary technical processing is based on delivering the remote control service you request. Security measures serve our legitimate interest in preventing abuse. If you email us, we process your email address and message to help you. Do not include sensitive information in your device name.

You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer of your personal data, or object where applicable. Email support@nhsd.nl. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

We update this page and its date when practices change. If a change requires new permission, we ask before that feature processes the relevant information.
